What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient holistic
healing technique used to
accelerate the body's own healing
abilities. From ancient texts,
illustrations and artifacts we know
that the early Chinese, Japanese,
Indians, Russians and Egyptians
worked on the feet and hands to
improve health and well-being.
Modern Reflexology is both a
science and a skilled art. As a
science, it requires well practiced
execution of all the different
techniques. Because it is one of
the healing arts, the Reflexologist
must be dedicated and bring to
each reflexology session patience,
focused attention and loving care.
How Does Reflexology Work?
Reflexology specifies that there
are ten energy zones that run the
length of the body, from head to
toe, five on each side of the body.
All the organs and parts fo the
body are along one or more of
these lines. The feet and hands
mirror the body. Each foot or hand
represents 1/2 of the body. The
left foot or hand correspond to the
seft side and the right foot or hand
to the right. By stimulating these
areas using Reflexology, we can
clear the neural pathways and
enable the body to heal itself
naturally.
Revitalize Energy
By relaxing and opening energy
pathways, Reflexology helps to
raise energy levels and improve
natural vitality.
Preventative
All systems in the body function
best when people successfully
manage stressful situations of day
to day living. When a body is well
balanced, a person is able to ward
off illness better, is less
susceptible to disease.
Reflexology promotes a general
sense of well being.
Relieves Discomfort
One of the best things about
Reflexology is it's ability to relieve
discomfort and pain. Many clients
find immediate relief from pain and
discomfort during their
Reflexology session. This is
especially true for areas that
correspond to the head and neck
such as headaches, colds,
shoulder and neck pain.

What Can Reflexology Do?
Reduce Stress:
When we don't handle stress well, the
body's defenses break down and we
become more susceptible to illness
and disease. Your body is operated by
messages carried back and forth along
neural pathways. Stimulation of the
sensory nerve ending send
information to the spinal cord and
brain. They in turn send instructions to
the organs and muscles. When the
neural pathways are impaired, nerve
function is impeded. Reflexology
stimulates more than 7,000 nerves
when touching the feet and helps to
open and clear the neural pathways.
Improve Circulation:
Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to
all the cells. It also removes waste
products of metabolism and other
toxins. Stress and tension restrict
blood flow. Reflexology can reduce
stress and tension and allow the many
cardiovascular vessels to flow
smoothly and consistently.
